Purchase of this workstation was made possible, in part, by the Office of the Dean of the School of Bioscience. The workstation was designed, configured and constructed, and is maintained by Dr. Bruce Blumberg.

Microscope users may transfer image files to and from the workstation for manipulation and analysis of images captured using OBC or other microscopes / computer.

Current Software Available for Use
- Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive, InDesign, ImageReady)

- Zeiss LSM image analysis software

The OBC is willing to help users evaluate Image Analysis software packages, such as Mercury Computer Systems' Amira, Zeiss' Stallion (for live cell imaging) and AxioVision, Improvision's Volocity and Universal Imaging's MetaMorph.

Please contact Dr. Michelle Digman, the Director of the Optical Biology Core, if you have suggestions for software to be installed on the workstation, or if you have existing Image Analysis software that you would like to install on the workstation. The OBC is able to provide advice for software packages that you wish to include in your grant applications !

The OBC does not maintain a publication quality color printer, as UCI's ImageWorks Facility is able to provide outstanding services in this area.
