Dako Cytomation Mo-Flo Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter (FACS)
The MoFlo® Flow Cytometer from Cytomation, installed in March 2000, is a cell sorter capable of simultaneous high-speed sorting of four independent populations based on any of 8 parameters. It provides sorting precision required for the isolation of rare-cell populations with high purity and yield, and can sort up to 70,000 events per second. Sorted cells are viable, and purity is greater than 99 percent at all speeds. The current configuration enables 2-laser, 3-laser line excitation, with many available wavelengths. The primary, Enterprise II Argon Ion, laser, excites with 488 and UV lines. The additional tunable INNOVA I70 Spectrum laser provides the popular wavelengths of 568 and 647nm. Moreover tuning of the laser provides several other wavelengths. In its current configuration the instrument will detect up to 6 colors, plus forward- and side-scatter information and time as parameters.
